Wildlife encounters the most challenging time of the year. The nights may be longer, but winter is far from a season of slumber. Live, breathtaking animal life from around the UK.
Day 1
Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan present wildlife stories from Wild Ken Hill in Norfolk, as cameras capture winter spectacles in full swing. This week's opening episode takes a look at the largest jackdaw roost in the UK, and follows heart-warming stories of grey seal births along our coastline. Elsewhere, Iolo Williams and Gillian Burke head to Edinburgh to gain an insight into our urban wildlife.
Day 2
Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan present wildlife stories from Wild Ken Hill in Norfolk, and examine footage that the live remote cameras have captured after dark. Elsewhere in Edinburgh, Gillian Burke and Iolo Williams head into a cemetery to see the wildlife that uses these city habitats as a haven, before a check-in with the live wild badger cameras in Edinburgh Zoo.
Day 3
Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan revel in some of winter's most dazzling displays. Wild Ken Hill in Norfolk delivers all the live wildlife action from the remote cameras, and there is an insight into some of Britain's smallest mammals. Viewers also meet artist Paul Harfleet, who uses art to engage his audience and highlight the plight of many of our British bird species.
Day 4
Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan reveal some ingenious beetle adaptations in the macro studio at Wild Ken Hill in Norfolk. Megan McCubbin immerses herself in one of our most iconic winter spectacles as she goes swimming with starlings. In Edinburgh, Gillian Burke and Iolo Williams have moved from the cemetery to the river, to explore the city's waterways.
Day 5
Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan are back in Wild Ken Hill in Norfolk, where they update viewers on the weekend dramas that have played out on the live cameras. They also revel in the rich habitat of nearby estuary the Wash, which draws thousands of avian migrants every winter and supports its own resident species all year round. Iolo Williams and Gillian Burke continue to explore Edinburgh, showcasing the Water of Leith as well providing an insight into the badgers' weekend antics on the cameras.
Day 6
Michaela Strachan celebrates one of Norfolk's most sensational winter species, pink-footed geese. Gillian Burke and Iolo Williams showcase Scotland's marine species on Edinburgh's coast and Megan McCubbin meets the new president of the RSPB, Amir Khan, for a few tips ahead of this weekend's Big Garden Birdwatch.
Day 7
Michaela Strachan celebrates one of Norfolk's most sensational winter species, pink-footed geese Chris Packham will be catching up on all the action from the live wildlife cameras. In Edinburgh, Gillian Burke and Iolo Williams move to the coast, to showcase Scotland's marine species.
Day 8
Chris Packham talks to David Attenborough about all things British wildlife ahead of his new series. Chris and Michaela Strachan also say goodbye to Wild Ken Hill, where they've been based for two years. They celebrate the season from their Norfolk base and offer the final deluge of drama from the live cameras.
